Last Sunday at 01.00 AM it was time to change from GMT to British Summer Time again… We lost an hour that night but gained a lot more daylight during the next months 🙂
Yeah!!!
And since I am living very close to the Prime Meridian of the World in Greenwich (Longitude 0° 0‘ 0“) now, I went there on Sunday to learn a bit about Greenwich Mean Time and the history of timekeeping.
It is a nice walk up to the famous and internationally renowned Royal Observatory – the home of Greenwich Mean Time. Situated in beautiful Greenwich Park at the top of the hill offering an amazing view over Greenwich University and Naval Buildings with the skyline of London, Wembley Stadium and the Docklands in the background…really fantastic!
I also went to the National Maritime Museum, which is there as well. It explores the continuing effects the oceans still have on the world today. Unfortunately, I was there a bit late – just right before it closed at five – but a good reason to go back there soon and see more!
