Exploring the mountains on the Island

I must say that I really miss the Bavarian Alps, especially the fact that they were just around the corner and one could easily do a spontaneous Sunday trip and even have a lie-in before going e.g. to the ‘Münchner Hausberge’ (Munich’s Local Mountains).

To go hiking on the Island takes a little more time – four hours exactly by car – at least in our case when going to Mount Snowdon in Wales.

Hiking in Snowdonia, the region of the most famous as well as biggest, boldest mountains in the South of the UK also requires the booking of a hotel room early in advance, especially when going on a long bank holiday weekend… If you decide it on short notice like we did, you have to take what is left – In our case a lovely little Hotel in Nefyn, one hour away from the mountains, but directly by the Irish Sea.

One can get very lucky as we had both, coastline and mountains – which in comparison is not possible in Bavaria. 😉

So I found a wonderful new part of the Island, which I definitely have to come back to, soon.
